It must have been the fact that Eric was only given an honorable mention on the last Cornholeblogger 66 list that fired him up, lol.

Unfortunately the event was missing 5 of the top 10 players on my list, but it clearly was not short on talent.  A great field of talent participated in the event.

Also congratulations to the ACO for doing a good job with the updates.  Unfortunately for the fans at home the live stream was a let down, but overall sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves once again.

Clearly the ACO took a step in the right direction in 2011, hopefully it continues.

I’m going to try something new to bring cornhole to the players and try and help grow the game beyond just the very elite players (although they are welcome to play as well).  If you have any comments or suggestions on this idea, don’t hesistate to contact me or comment on them here.

The basic approach is that the “tour” will go to locations across Ohio (although mainly focused on Northern Ohio) and run blind draw events with the winners qualifying for a Championship event.  All while paying out a fair amount of the entry fees at each event and putting an additional 10% of the entry fees into the Championship pot.

ESPN shows it every Tuesday night and they’re down to the “November 9″ with the winner set to take home over $8 Million.  On Tuesday of this week they showed Phil Collins (the poker player, not the singer) playing cornhole at his house as a way to have fun with his friends.

Was only on for maybe 20-30 seconds, but still good stuff.

I use to play a lot of online poker before our great government decided I wasn’t allowed to do it anymore (or any US citizen for that matter).  Got to love having our freedoms taken away from us one item at a time.
