Early Times was there yes…but not in this picture. They were set up all week. I should have wore my Mountain State Cornhole shirt on this night. I was standing right behind the throwers (as you face the camera) all night. FREE advertising! Dang it! Maybe next time?

I was just looking at the picture you used for this article. I find it a bit odd that they posted the proud sponsors of the world championships the week before the tournament and reported earlier in the year that Early Times was going to be the title sponsor. I have examined this picture thoroughly and don’t see any of them. However, I do spot aco promotional media on 6 items in the picture not including the players or spectators. I want to make a point to MA that this is not bitching, just observation. An observation that any potential major title sponsor would investigate before they would participate. Please tell me if I am off the reservation here.

I was there & I have never had as much fun playing as I did watching those two go at it. They defied physics w/ some of their shots. It was unbelievable. I think Isidro could have pulled a bag off the floor & drug it in w/ the shots he was making. Also, M. Guy hit back to back long distance airmails- I think from 60+ ft.

you can tell how tough the competition was by seeing Randy A, Rick Mayes, Dallas,Shoemaker, Schaffer Sr, Lemons, Phil Harmon, Pinkerton & Bobo ETC….. all finishing below 33rd place. DAM…….

I was on the Honorable Mention list once. Maybe I could make something of myself someday? However, I don’t see it ever being the King of Cornhole. I will just continue wearing the crown on my shoulder.

@ Rudy:Nice review Dave. Sorry you missed the match of the decade! Must have been 6 perfect pushes (8 bag frames) and another 6 regular pushes. Both Herrera and Zocklein were relentless, and it made for an amazing contest. Congrats to the other players that did so well and shook up the brackets!

Dave, Like I’ve said in the past, at least you have the nuggets to post a Top 66. I know I speak for several baggers in IL, that we eagerly await your next ranking. Sure, we all know that it’s not an exact science, and with all the “new” competitors, it’s even tougher to rank 66, but in my opinion, the rankings are good for the game. Keep up the great work Dave.

Additional tourney info:
Tourney is being held at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. This is a very nice facility and if this goes well these kind folks will allow us to run additional tourneys. This tourney should run smoothly, as we will have several nice sets of boards to play & practice on. If time permits, we will also run a singles tourney. We are also entertaining the idea of having an airmail contest. There is a snack bar open with plenty of food and drinks available. I hope to see alot of you there! Just give him time nate and he will find something wrong with it, oh wait he already has. Its more than 3 hours from a major airport. wtf. Who cares, you have to be an aco member to play anyway. I’am not planning on going so lets see how much negative i can find to make other people not go and hurt the sport that i claim i want to grow. That sounds like fun
